Thank goodness the seasons vary and just about the time you are weary
of one, another comes along. Okay, we're weary of winter! We enjoyed watching
the snow fall and even enjoyed some of the shoveling – good exercise and
all that rot! Unfortunately, we have had one of the worst winters in over
50 years; breaking snowfall records and too many freezing temperatures
has us wishing for warmer days. Perhaps you have noticed the weather shift
with some of the new designs. Our favorite has to be Odorous Oscar the
skunk – he has so much personality; what’s not to like about the little
fellow! More fun and different designs are soon to arrive on the site
too, and each one is sure to brighten the remaining winter days.
I am sure you have read our company motto "The Workmanship is in the
Detail" and perhaps you always wondered exactly what "detail" to
expect, so here are the quality steps included with our painted designs:
- SnodCraft
designs are cut with precision from the highest quality wood available.
- Every
wood piece is sealed, sanded and painted front and back. We use a
high quality wood sealer and sand the wood smooth before any paint is
ever applied.
- Close attention is paid with every step of the pattern transfer
and painting process; if it doesn’t look right, it doesn’t leave
the paint shop!
- We hand paint the outlines around certain designs. Most artists
recommend a pen for outlining, but we outline with paint because
it outlasts permanent ink which tends to fade over time.
- Once the painting is complete
each piece receives a detailed inspection and then the first varnish
is hand applied. After the varnish is dry a second hard coat varnish
is sprayed on for years of bright color and durability. You deserve the

wood product.
